If you do this, your marketing will fail:
1. Not Building a List: Your list is your biggest asset. Most of your marketing effort and expenses will be wasted if you don’t have a way to build a list. Commonly used list builders are aWeber and GetResponce.
2. Spamming. Being too enthusiastic about their products or companies, novice internet marketers spam forums, social networks and blogs. This will surely build up a bad reputation and failure is sure to follow.
3. Doing Pay Per Click without learning the tricks. Google Adwords and other PPC are complicated. Setting up an account and campaign is easy, but to maximise it is another matter. Remember you are competing with a lot of experience marketers who know a lot more about PPC than you.
4. Don’t understand conversion. Driving traffic to your website is one thing, converting visitors to prospects, leads or customers is another matter. If you don’t have a high converting website, all your traffic will be wasted. Split testing and keeping track of conversion figure is paramount to internet marketing success.
5. Don’t know your target market. Imgaing selling sunglasses to the blinds. You got to know who your potential customers are and where do they hang out on the internet.
